Madeline’s Birth Story

Madeline’s Birth Story

I went into labor at midnight, doing a night drive with my son to help put him to sleep. It was the night of one of the dads birthdays, so we all felt super excited that he stayed inside just one more day before he made himself into this world. Harrison was born at 39 weeks and 3 days!

Our delivery was on October 3, 2024. It was around 1AM so the roads were completely cleared. The smoothest way for labor to go! When my water broke labor went by quickly, thankfully the dads were right by the hospital! I reached 7cm and immediately called them.

My Support Team

My support team was my boyfriend and both of the dads! The hospital was amazing and very accommodating. They did everything possibly right. Between the dads and my boyfriend, the emotional support during and after labor was the most I could ask for! I had back labor and wasn’t really thinking about much other than “Please get this baby out!” Birth went a lot better than expected, we were expecting an induction! So him coming on his own was amazing from the start. I was in labor for less than 5 hours and pushed for 12 minutes!

The First Few Moments

After delivering the baby it was a sense of relief hearing his first cries, that everything was worth it and seeing the dads with their baby. The first thing I said to Harrison “Thank gosh you have that much hair,” due to me having excessive heartburn. The first thing I said to the parents was “Congratulations, welcome to parenthood,” when they finally got to hold their baby.

Recovery

The hospital visit was 24 hours, it was extremely weird but also relaxing coming home without a baby. Postpartum felt a lot easier and it was mentally more manageable with healing with tons of sleep and bed rest. The first few days feel surreal, you feel bonded with your surrogate parents. After a few weeks life went back to how it normally was and I feel as if it made me and my boyfriend more connected as well as grateful for my children in a different light.

Strength and Support

Stronger Together Surrogacy is an amazing experience! They helped me throughout the whole process and never made me feel alone. They were very upfront on processes and were emotional support. I would recommend them to everybody who wants to do a surrogacy journey. It takes somebody extremely selfless to do this journey. Have the most positive upbringing people in your life that will provide you not only emotional but physical support when it comes down to IVF shots and the pregnancy overall. Enjoy your whole time and live in the moment. It goes extremely fast.
