Pia’s Birth Story

Pia’s Birth Story

We had planned an induction because at 38 weeks, I was already 3 cm dilated. The induction was scheduled for July 10th, and I was mentally prepared for a controlled and planned delivery, however, nature had other plans. The morning of, I received a call from my son about 6:00AM, he was staying with my mom in Puerto Rico. I had been asleep when the phone rang, and after our conversation, I tried to go back to sleep. As I lay back down, I suddenly started feeling some liquid. My water broke on it’s own during the impact of Hurricane Beryl in Houston!

This was my fourth pregnancy and my second surrogacy journey, so I was able to remain calm and focused. I called my daughter and we made our way to the hospital—all while the hurricane was ongoing. I spoke with my mom during the drive and was checking in on me constantly. At the same time, I was communicating with the intended parents, I wanted to ensure they were preparing and on their way also!

Hospital Arrival

I arrived at the hospital and was 5 cm dilated. About 30 minutes later the IPs arrived, and from that moment on they never left my side. Their support meant everything to me. After getting fully checked in and into a delivery room, the medical team got my IV and fluids started, then by 3 PM the baby arrived!

The hospital staff was amazing, and the IPs were incredibly attentive, always checking on me and ensuring I was comfortable. The experience was truly heartwarming. I was released the next day and fortunate enough to return to work the following week comfortably.

I have always loved the experience Stronger Together Surrogacy provides and the way the agency cares for everyone involved. The entire process is simple, transparent, and built on trust, making it an easy decision for me to embark on another journey in the future.
